One coal miner was killed and two others
were injured in what was described as a collapse Sunday night at the Marshall
County Mine near Cameron, according emergency officials.
State and federal investigators
were at the scene on Monday morning following the collapse that happened around
10 p.m. Sunday.
Early indications were the collapse
happened at an entrance portal. There were no reports of any other miners being
trapped.
The Marshall County Coal Company, a subsidiary of Murray Energy,
operates the mine.
