15 Face Federal Drug Charges


Fifteen people face federal drug charges as part of a 35 count federal indictment unsealed last week.

The indictment, handed down by a U.S. District Court grand jury in Charleston, charges all 15 people with one count of conspiracy to distribute heroin, cocaine, crack, Oxycodone, Oxymorphone, MDHA also know as “Ecstasy” and “Molly” and marijuana in the Huntington area between 2010 and January of this year.

Those indicted are Kenneth Dewitt Newman, George Antonio Newman, Mark Silverberg, Darlene Newman, Marshall Lee Graves II, Kamel Burris, Stacy Shepard, Ariell Varney, Tammy Jackson, Marcus Dewayne Graves, Brandon Jay Appleton, Curtis Rollins, Tonda Click, Leroy Wilson and William Isiah Petties.

Kenneth Newman faces 15 additional drug and gun charges, while George Newman faces 12 additional drug and gun charges.

Federal prosecutors are requesting that cash and property owned by the several of defendants in Huntington be forfeited as part of the criminal proceedings.
