A task force aimed at combating the rising heroin problem in the
capital city region is scheduled to meet.
The Heroin Eradication Associated Task Force, or HEAT, is meeting in Charleston .
Part of the meeting will be devoted to discussing the negative
impact of heroin in the county.
The growing use of heroin is a statewide problem. West Virginia and other
states are reporting a rise in heroin use as many addicts shift from more
costly and harder-to-get prescription opiates to a cheaper alternative.
