Belfry Fire Department Awarded Firefighters Grant

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officially announced today the Belfry Fire Department grant application submitted under the Fiscal Year 2013 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) was approved. 

The approved project costs total to $62,384.00. 

The grant money will be used for new turn out gear and Self Contained Breathing Apparatus.

Belfry Fire Chief Nee Jackson says without grants from the AFG, it would be impossible to keep up with the demands and stay up to date with the equipment, let alone make the large purchases.
