Information is needed in the case of a man who was hit by a coal truck and seriously hurt in early June, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say Michael Gentry, 53, of Cabin Creek, was near the roadway of his home in the 2300 block of Cabin Creek Road when he was struck by a passing coal truck. It happened about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 4.
Gentry’s left leg was caught between the rear tires, and he was dragged about one-quarter mile before being freed. The coal truck driver continued on without stopping.
Gentry was seriously injured and initially in critical condition. His left leg was amputated during surgery that night.
