Nurse Arrested for Stealing Medications

A nurse at Logan Regional Medical Center has been arrested after troopers say he stole morphine and hydrocodone pills and then supplied them to a woman.

Dennis Mullins, 59, was arrested Tuesday evening by West Virginia State Police.

State Police say Mullins was found with 12 vials of morphine and 60 hydrocodone pills. Police believe he has been stealing from the hospital for the past six to 12 months.

State Police say Mullins has been supplying the drugs to his girlfriend. WVSP says the girlfriend has been arrested for prostitution in the past.

Police have been investigating Mullins for the past four months. He was seen Tuesday in a well known drug area of Logan and was arrested.

Mullins is facing charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver and Obtaining Items by Fraud. He is currently being held in the Southwestern Regional Jail on a $10,000 bond.

Logan Regional Medical Center officials say they are looking into the matter and are fully cooperating with State Police.

Logan Regional Medical Center would not comment when asked if Mullins is still an employee or if he has been let go.
