Permits for concealed carry permits spike in West Virginia

The number of concealed carry permits issued in West Virginia is on the rise. The Mountain State has seen the number of permits quadruple in the past five years.
In 2009, county sheriff's departments from around the state issued 11,160 permits. In 2013, that number jumped up to 44,981.
Concealed carry permits allow residents to concealed handguns in most places as long as they are concealed. Each permit is valid for only five years.
