Convicted Mingo Sex Offender Could Be Free In Six Months If He Completes Program

A convicted Mingo County sex offender could be back on the streets in as little as six months if he successfully completes a program for youthful offenders.

Cameron Ellis will wait for an opening at the Anthony Center on home confinement after being sentenced Tuesday for two counts of soliciting a minor on the Internet. The incidents happened in 2013 when he was 22.  He could have been sentenced to up to 20 years in prison. Ellis will be on probation for five years if he completes the Anthony Center program.

Ellis must register as a sex offender and stay off the web. One victim's relative complained the girls were victimized again by the sentence.
