Charleston Police Hiring

The Charleston Police Department is hiring new faces in an effort to fight a nationwide shortage in law enforcement officers.

The department held a recruitment open house Saturday morning at its training center downtown.

Training Coordinator Paul Roach says there's a big need for more officers.

Charleston Police say the deadline to apply is Oct. 1. They say anyone between the ages of 18-40 can apply.

West Virginia State Police say they also need more manpower. They're especially looking for women and minorities.
