New state fire marshal takes oath

Wednesday was a big day for new state Fire Marshal Ken Tyree. Not only did he take the oath of office in a mid-afternoon ceremony at the state capitol but he was also honored in a retirement ceremony at the Charleston Fire Department earlier in the day.

Tyree, a captain with the CFD, retired after 21 years to take the state job. He replaces Tony Carrico who took another job in state government.
