The U.S. Supreme Court will hear
arguments early next year on whether the Environmental Protection Agency overstepped
its authority in developing carbon emissions limits for sites
like factories and power plants.
The U.S. Supreme Court will
consider whether the EPA’s authority to regulate vehicle emissions, which came
out of a 2007 Supreme Court ruling, can be applied to stationary sources.
Last year, the U.S. Court of
Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit upheld the EPA’s regulations aimed
at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The High Court agreed to hear the
case on Tuesday.
