Cabell Huntington Hospital and Pleasant Valley Hospital form partnership

Pleasant Valley Hospital (PVH) and Cabell Huntington Hospital (CHH) are forming a partnership in an effort to provide better care to those in rural areas.
The joint management services agreement was announced Wednesday during an open house celebration at PVH. Leadership from both hospitals, along with PVH staff took part in the ceremony.
The agreement is for the 101 bed acute care facility and 100 bed nursing and rehabilitation center in Point Pleasant. PVH will keep its name, medical staff and employees.
“I know this is going to be a winning partnership. We share common goals, dedicated staffs, and a passion for quality patient care,” stated Cabell Huntington Hospital President and CEO Brent Marsteller in a release.
The agreement was approved by the PVH Board of Directors on November 18, and CHH Board of Directors on December 3. The agreement is effective December 4.
Larry Unroe, interim CEO of PVH, said the partnership is an exciting development for everyone involved.
“The partnership will allow us to increase the depth of our core services such as primary care, orthopedics and surgical services while developing specialty care such as pulmonology and endocrinology onsite at Pleasant Valley Hospital,” stated Unroe in a release Wednesday.
As part of the agreement, CHH will also provide assistance with physician recruiting and management.
“We believe that Cabell Huntington Hospital’s strength in medical education and vision for the future make this partnership a perfect fit for Pleasant Valley Hospital and the community we serve,” said Unroe.
A search is currently underway to find a full-time CEO for PVH who will be dedicated to the PVH campus and will serve as a member of the CHH executive team.
