People seeking a high school
equivalency diploma will begin taking CTB/McGraw Hill's Test Assessing
Secondary Completion exam, or TASC, in January.
Reports indicate that the state will
continue to offer the test for free.
State officials began looking for
another provider after a new electronic GED was announced.
The electronic GED
exam will cost $120, compared to the existing test's $50 fee.
The base price of CTB/McGraw Hill's
exam is $52. The company says it will offer both paper-and-pencil and online
versions of the exam.
