Jobless rate jumps in May

The state’s unemployment numbers increased by 2,600 in May according to numbers released Tuesday by WorkForce West Virginia.
The jobless rate climbed three-tenths of a percentage point up to 6.3 percent. The state’s rate now equals the federal unemployment rate.
Most job losses this year have come in construction, trade, transportation and utility sectors.
