The Cabell-Huntington Health Department is attempting to contact about 100 people after confirming two cases of tuberculosis within the past week.
Health department officials said the two infected patients may have been exposed to that many people, all of whom will need to be tested. They don’t expect to have any problems with those residents but the department could pursue court orders if there’s resistance.
The department issued a health advisory Friday.
Tuberculosis is a bacterial disease that attacks the lungs but can damage other organs. It is spread through the air.
