Under the Medicaid expansion Rebecca Legg will have insurance
for the first time in nearly 25-years.
Like so many other people, Legg is
confused by the new process.
Perry Bryant, the Executive Director of
West Virginians for Affordable Healthcare,
says that there are a lot of people like Rebecca out there. Bryant says call
1-800-318-2596 to see if you qualify.
Meantime, 118,000 letters went out to
food stamp recipients and the parents of children already enrolled in
government healthcare, to tell those folks they already qualify.
Letter recipients need to respond by checking
the box on the form and send it back to the state.
The next step: wait for a packet of
information to come in the mail.
Same is true with the 1-800-318-2596.
Make the call, see if you qualify, and wait for the packet of information.
