The city of Huntington
passed a $45 million budget for the next fiscal year.
It includes a 3 percent pay raise for
all city employees.
City officials said the budget sets the
city up for the next three to five years. The goal is to get away from
short-term gains that lead to long-term losses.
"If we're going to be as successful
as we expect to be in the next 10 years, these next 60 days are going to give
us the tools for just the next three to five years to propel us forward,"
Mayor Steve Williams said.
Exactly where that $45 million will go
will be decided during the next 30 to 60 days.
