A former Mingo
County magistrate will be in U.S.
District Court in Charleston
on Monday afternoon to be sentenced for voter fraud.
Dallas Toler, 45, plead guilty in
December to knowingly registering a convicted felon to vote in 2012.
Toler’s sentencing was scheduled for 2 p.m. He faces up to five years in
federal prison, but has requested probation.
In February, Toler’s bond was
revoked after he allegedly violated his probation by selling cocaine to an
informant. He’s been held in the South Central Regional Jail since then.
Toler was one of four former Mingo County
elected officials charged as part of a larger corruption investigation.
He was part of “Team Mingo” — a slate of Democratic candidates
seeking election in 2012 — along with former Mingo County Circuit Judge Michael
Thornsbury, former Mingo County Commissioner David Baisden and former
Prosecuting Attorney Michael Sparks.
