The number of guilty pleas in the
case of a Bridgeport
pain clinic continues to rise.
Shane Brantley of Sutton pleaded
guilty Monday to conspiracy to use another person’s DEA registration number,
while Andrea Nicole Shepard of Fairmont
pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting use of a phone to distribute
buprenorphine, a schedule III controlled substance commonly used to treat
chronic pain.
Both pleas were entered at the U.S.
District Court in Clarksburg .
Brantley and Shepard are among six
people charged in the case, three other defendants previously pleaded guilty.
The doctor at the center of the
case, Dr. Edita Milan, has a court date scheduled for trial later this year on
charges of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances.
