The West Virginia Farm Bureau met on Monday to discuss a new
proposal from the Environmental Protection Agency.
The group met at Sissonville High School
to discuss rules proposed in the Clean Water Act, which says the EPA would have
control of any water that flows, pools or stands at anytime of year regardless
of duration.
"The far-reaching effect that this
could have on land usage across the nation, not just West Virginia, it's
unbelievable the expansion of the jurisdiction that this could have of control
by the government," said Steve Butler with the Farm Bureau.
The Farm Bureau is asking people to file
comments against the proposal. Comments will be accepted until Oct. 20.
