A Logan
County man was charged
with attempted murder yesterday after firing shots at troopers with the West
Virginia State Police.
Court documents state that Roy Clinton
Richards, 43, of Eagles Roost, was distraught Tuesday morning. He
"threatened to shoot any police officer that came to his residence,"
the documents said.
Upon arrival, troopers said he fired "at
least two times" before complying with officers commands.
Richards was arrested shortly afterwards.
He was brought to South Western Regional Jail, held on $50,000 bond.
