Arraignment this week in sheriff’s shooting

The Mingo County Prosecutor’s Office says the man accused in the murder of Mingo County Sheriff Eugene Crum will be arraigned this week.
Tennis Maynard, 37, of Delbarton, was indicted on charges of first-degree murder following the April 3 shooting of Crum. Maynard also was indicted on a charge of attempted murder for pulling his gun on a sheriff’s deputy who pursued him.
Maynard was shot by that deputy and has been a patient at Cabell Huntington Hospital since the shooting.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Cabell County Courthouse in Huntington.
