Kanawha County police probe man’s death

Members of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department investigation team are confident a man found dead in his home Monday afternoon was murdered.
“There was a good amount of blood inside and outside the trailer,” said Cpl. Brian Humphreys. “As far as the specifics, that would probably be better determined by the Medical Examiner, but there was injury and reasonable evidence somebody else caused it.”
David Lemons, 28, of Elkview was found dead in his home on Darlington Lane by a neighbor.  The neighbor called 911 after spotting Lemons’ body through a window.
“We have several different leads, but we’re not ready to name any persons of interest,” Humphreys said. “We’re hoping the public may have some information and will come forward to help us out.”
Humphreys said part of the investigation is to search for known items of value in the home and to determine if any of them may be missing.  The process of investigating that aspect continues.   Lemons lived alone so it’s hard to say what if anything is missing.  Humphreys said it’s also hard to say who may have wanted to hurt him and whether it was somebody he knew.
Deputies are awaiting an autopsy report from the state Medical Examiner’s office.
