Man Dies in Downtown Williamson Fire; Name Released



The W.Va. State Fire Marshal's Office has released the name of the man killed in an early morning fire in Williamson, W.Va..

Robert Mitchell Smith, 48, did not survive when the building caught fire early Saturday morning.

It happened about 5:00 a.m. on 3rd Avenue and Pike Street.

The building housed five businesses and apartments.

Another man had to be taken to the hospital after suffering severe 2nd and 3rd degree burns.

There's no word yet what caused the fire.
