Delegate-elect Saves Girl

A West Virginia Delegate-elect saved a 4-year-old girl from being hit by a train and was then punched by her father.

Ralph Rodighiero says he and his son were picking up pizza Sunday and decided to drive through downtown Logan on the way home.

They were stopped in traffic because of a train on Dingess Street and noticed something was wrong.

The child was wandering the streets alone, looking for her parents.

But the parents didn't show up, and the child kept getting closer to a moving train, attempting to go under it.

Rodighiero said that's when he had no choice but to jump into action, saving the child from being run over.

He called 911, but before the medics could get there the parents showed up and became violent, leaving Rodighiero with a black eye.

He says if he had to do it all over again, he would do the same exact thing.

James Gollick, the child's father, was charged with battery for allegedly punching Rodighiero in the face.
