U.S. Secretary of Labor to tour Cumberland Coal Resources mine

The U.S. Secretary of Labor and Assistant Secretary of Labor for Mine Safety and Health will be touring a mine near the West Virginia-Pennsylvania border.

Thomas Perez and Joseph Main will visit Cumberland Coal Resources LP’s Cumberland Mine in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, on Monday.

Cumberland is an affiliate of Alpha Natural Resources, headquartered in Bristol, Virginia.

Secretary Perez will tour the underground operations and meet with miners, mine management and representatives from the United Mine Workers of America.
