Michael
Johnson, 46, later turned himself into police Monday night hours after police
realized he had escaped the home on 10th
Avenue .
Police
have charged Johnson with felony wanton endangerment and misdemeanor domestic
battery.
Police
said he had choked his girlfriend at his home on 10th Avenue and also hit her with a
handgun. Police believe that is what led Johnson to barricade himself inside
the home Monday afternoon.
After
five and a half hours, the SWAT team finally went inside the home to realize
Johnson was gone. He later turned himself in.
Johnson
is currently behind bars on a $100,000 bond.
