Those
with the National Transportation Safety Board said that John Prince Harris, the
one time president of West Virginia Steel Corp, was 100 to 200 feet off the
ground when his plane crashed in the woods near the Georgetown County
Airport .
The
information was released Tuesday as part of the NTSB’s preliminary report on
the July 29 crash.
The
report stated that Harris was flying the two-seat decommissioned aircraft,
a Folland Gnat T1, by himself when it went down at around 1:20 p.m.
Harris
was on his way to visit family at the time.
