Union
workers at Cabell
Huntington Hospital
will not be going on strike.
Around
800 Service Employees International Union District 1199 union workers voted in
favor of a new three-year labor agreement with the hospital Wednesday.
The
union represents 800 licensed practical nurses, lab workers, and service and
maintenance personnel at the hospital.
A
tentative agreement was reached Wednesday morning between the union and the
hospital after contract talks resumed Tuesday.
Last
week the union issued a 10-day strike notice after rejecting a previous
contract offer several days earlier. The union was threatening to strike on
Friday if an agreement was not reached.
The
details of the contract have not been released.
