More
than 47 million Americans who receive food stamps will soon be getting less
money.
Officials
with the Agriculture Department say a family of four receiving food stamps will
receive 36 dollars less a month. That is because a temporary benefit from the
2009 economic stimulus expires on Friday.
The
cost of the food stamp program swelled since the recession, it now costs nearly
80 billion dollars a year.
