Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office Increases Patrols after Chemical Leak

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Office says they have mobilized deputy sheriffs and other assets to assist with the ongoing state of emergency.

More than 30 deputy sheriffs are on-duty responding to emergency calls and assisting with incidents as needed.

Deputies say days off have been cancelled for most of the agency and deputies are working 12 hour shifts.

11 members of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office Day Report Center are helping move water at distribution points in the county.

The sheriff's office asks for residents to remain calm and wait patiently for water, but say to call 911 if you need assistance.
