Courthouse Security

LINCOLN COUNTY, W.Va. -- Some big changes are coming to an old building in Lincoln County.

Sheriff Ken Farley says he plans to overhaul security in the courthouse to make it safer. He's hoping to hire a protective service or armed guards soon.

Farley says he started making plans two months ago after tragedy struck in Mingo County. Sheriff Eugene Crum was murdered in broad daylight just blocks from the courthouse.

Now, Farley says he won't let anyone or anything suspicious slip by under his watch.

It's not clear right now how much the overhaul effort will cost. Farley says he'll be working with county commissioners to draw up a budget.
