Wyoming County couple sentenced to federal prison in oxycodone distribution case

A Wyoming County man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison and his wife received a seven-year term on oxycodone distribution and money laundering charges.

Christopher and Jennifer Brooks of Glen Fork were sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Beckley.

U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin says the couple received 17,000 prescription pain pills by mail over a span of 18 months from a known individual in Tampa, Fla.

In exchange for the pills, they deposited at least $300,000 into bank accounts.
