Coal Miner Wins $1 Million Powerball Prize

A coal miner from Rupert has won a $1 million Powerball prize.

The West Virginia Lottery said Monday that David Feamster matched five numbers, missing only the Powerball number.

His ticket was one of only three $1 million winners nationally in the Oct. 2 drawing, which did not produce a jackpot winner.

Feamster said at a news conference in Charleston that his good fortune really hasn't sunk in yet.

The married father of three said the family plans to give to their church, pay off their house and save for the future.

Feamster bought the ticket at a Go Mart in Rainelle.
