4 W.Va. fire departments get federal grants



Four West Virginia volunteer fire departments are sharing nearly $293,000 in federal grants.

U.S. Sens. Joe Manchin and Jay Rockefeller announced the grants Wednesday that will help provide critically needed equipment, emergency vehicles, training and other resources for fire protection.

The grants will go to fire departments in Burlington, McMechen, Ridgeley and Teays Valley.

The funds are from the Federal Emergency Management Agency's assistance to firefighters grant program.
