Fake Online Job Postings Reported in W.Va.

The West Virginia Attorney General's office is investigating fake job postings online.

Attorney General Patrick Morrisey says the scammers will post openings on sites like Craigslist.

The job postings appear to be from legitimate businesses, like the Better Business Bureau, but they're not.

Morrisey says this is a way for scammers to get your personal information, such as your social security number or credit card numbers.

"If you're asked to pay a fee upfront like that, it's usually a scam, so say no and call our office," Morrisey said.

Morrisey says it's also important to meet potential employers in person before agreeing to give out any personal details.
