Officials with the West Virginia Department of Highways announced
on Wednesday they will begin work Thursday on an access route on Coal River Road in
Alum Creek.
Part of Coal River Road has been closed since
early December due to a slide.
Crews will begin working on the access
road Thursday morning, barring any weather circumstances.
The work was supposed to be completed
sooner. However, the DOH had trouble acquiring private land on which to build
the access road.
