Woman charged with bringing gun to high school football game

Fayette County Sheriff Steve Kessler says a conceal carry permit does not allow the holder to carry a gun on school property.
A Meadow Bridge woman was arrested Friday night at the Meadow Bridge High School football game. Kessler said Lisa Lizotte, 44, was intoxicated and refused to leave the game. Kessler said when police searched her they found a gun.
Lizotte was charged with public intoxication, obstructing a police officer, both misdemeanors and possessing a firearm on the grounds of a secondary public school, which is a felony.
“Carrying a concealed handgun to a school function—particularly when you are intoxicated—is a very serious crime,” Kessler said. “A permit to carry a concealed handgun does NOT extend permission for the permit holder to carry his or her firearm on school property.”
