The victim, Raymond Scott Savage, 49,
of Maidsville, suffered fatal injuries after being struck by a piece of rock at
Red Bone Mining Company’s Crawdad No. 1 Portal B Mine in Monongalia County
Savage was a section foreman operating
a roof bolting machine.
State and federal mine safety
investigators were on the scene Tuesday morning.
