$1.8 Million Upgrade for Cabell Huntington Hospital’s Burn Unit

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Cabell Huntington Hospital has completed a $1.8 million upgrade of its new burn unit.

The hospital said its burn intensive care unit, which it opened on Tuesday, is the only one in West Virginia for the treatment of serious burn injuries.

The expansion more than doubled the size of the unit, moved it one floor down to the fourth floor and has six critical care beds.

The unit treats burn victims who otherwise would have to travel to Pittsburgh or Cincinnati. The hospital treats more than 350 burn patients each year.

Cabell Huntington Hospital is a teaching hospital affiliated with Marshall University Schools of Nursing and Medicine.
