Man dead in Mason County fire

MASON COUNTY, W.Va. — An investigator with the state Fire Marshal’s Office was on the scene of a deadly house fire Friday afternoon in Mason County.

Police said a propane tank exploded at about 10:10 a.m. causing the blaze. Family members said the victim was Dallas Chapman, 84.

The residence is located along Whitten Ridge Road in Mason County near the Cabell County line.
