W.Va. gets $3.6M in federal funding to address veteran homelessness

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has awarded more than $3 million to organizations in West Virginia to address veteran homelessness.
Nonprofits and consumer cooperatives will use the funding to connect veterans with the VA for mental health care services. Temporary assistance will be offered to veterans as they transition to permanent housing.

U.S. Senators Jay Rockefeller and Joe Manchin and Rep. Nick Rahall say in a news release that the funding will help ensure veterans and their families have a home.
