Majority leader, Finance chair swap jobs as new speaker tweaks W.Va. House team

West Virginia's House of Delegates may have a new speaker, but he's keeping its other top leaders largely the same.
The few changes announced Thursday by Speaker Tim Miley include Majority Leader Brent Boggs and Finance Chairman Harry Keith White exchanging their posts.

Miley had been Judiciary chair when delegates elected him speaker last month. Miley has promoted Vice Chairman Tim Manchin to take over that major committee.

Other changes include Delegate David Perry moving as vice chair of the Health and Human Resources Committee to the same post at Education. Delegate Barbara Fleischauer will become vice chair at Health.

Upcoming challenges include a tight budget for the 2014-2015 spending year. The Democrats also hold a slim majority in the House, occupying just 54 of its 100 seats.
