W.Va. Guard holds exercises in 10 counties to showcase state's training areas, opportunities



The West Virginia National Guard is showcasing the state's military training areas and opportunities this week.
A weeklong series of training exercises called Sentry Storm began Monday and continue through Friday. The exercises are being held in Kanawha, Preston, Clay, Monongalia, Nicholas, Logan, Raleigh, Mingo, Greenbrier and Berkeley counties.

The Air National Guard's 130th Airlift Wing is leading the exercises. Air National Guard units from five states are participating, along with Army National Guard and Army Reserve units.

Training will include aircraft incident search and recovery, base defense training, tactical aircraft approach and landings, and aircraft formation flights with low level aerial navigation and air drops.
