The state Fire Marshal’s Office says one person died in a Boone County
The deadly blaze happened around 6 p.m. at a residence on Spars Creek off of Route 17 near Madison
Authorities said neighbors saw the fire and attempted to rescue the man inside, but the flames were too intense.
Investigators have not released the name of the victim and are working to determine the cause of the blaze.
No other injuries were reported in the fire.
