The state Fire Marshal’s Office continues to investigate a deadly fire that happened Monday afternoon in Boone County
The fire marshal released the name of the victim Tuesday. He’s identified as Jerry Dunlap, 68, of Spars Creek.
Dunlap’s residence was on fire when a passerby tried to help him out of the structure but could not because of the heavy smoke.
