HUGHESTON, W.Va.
— A person is dead and several others are injured after a
single-car crash Thursday.
The
crash happened around midnight on Hughes
Creek Road near Hugheston.
Police
said the car was traveling at a high rate of speed when it went off the road,
hit a telephone pole and slid through several yards.
The
car hit a garbage bin and several fences before coming to a stop in front of a
house.
A man
was pronounced dead at the scene. It is unclear whether he was the driver of
the car. Four other people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The
cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
