CHELYAN, W.Va. – One person is dead following a tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 77 in Kanawha County
The single vehicle accident took place around 11 p.m. Wednesday near Chelyan in the northbound lanes.
Dispatchers said the semi reportedly crashed through the barrier, overturned and landed on the railroad tracks along Cabin Creek Road
It was unclear whether the driver was the victim in the crash or a passenger.
An investigation is underway.
