W.Va.'s Tomblin challenges state residents to join in 'Day to Serve' volunteer events

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin is challenging West Virginians to help their neighbor.

They have a chance next month during an event called "Day to Serve," scheduled for Sept. 15 through Sept. 29. Last year, volunteers participated in more than 400 service projects throughout the state.

Tomblin is asking residents this year to double last year's commitment. Residents in several neighboring states and Washington participate in "Day to Serve" activities.
