Efforts to regulate above ground storage tanks in West Virginia
On Wednesday, the state Department of
Environmental Protection launched its new website to register all tanks online.
Tank registration will officially start
by June 10.
Chemical companies have until Oct. 1 to
provide inventory and register above ground tanks.
In January, a tank at Freedom
Industries leaked the chemical MCHM into the Elk River ,
contaminating the water in parts of nine counties.
